Jodi Carlson is a metal sculptor who turns scrap into sculpture and chaos into art. She welds aluminum like a boss and has a soft spot for forgotten objects—street signs, old tools, and random bits of metal most people would step over. If it’s quirky, dented, or slightly dangerous-looking, chances are it’s already in her studio.

Her large-scale sculptures have made their way into public spaces including the Leonia Sculpture Park in New Jersey, Yonkers City Hall, and the municipal campus in Clifton, NJ. She’s shown work at places like Highland Falls, NY (in front of the West Point Visitor’s Center), and the Farm Project in Garrison, NY.

Jodi lives in Mahopac, NY with her husband, surrounded by metal, mayhem, and a lot of half-finished ideas she swears she’ll get to right after this next sculpture.
